We founded Katanox at the beginning of COVID-19 when the hospitality industry was ripe for disruption because change was no longer a convenience but a necessity. Hard lessons were learned that the old ways of the past would no longer suffice in the new world of travel. 

This realization coupled with the fact that hotel and Travel Management Companies (TMCs) had time to critically assess their operations because travel came to a screeching halt created a perfect storm, and we found ourselves at the epicenter to be the catalyst of change. 

We aim to reduce the complexities in the B2B distribution and payments landscape for hoteliers and TMCs.

A traditional GDS booking consists of 4 components:

  • Getting the right content
  • Booking the room
  • Paying out the room revenue to the hotel
  • Settling the commission to the TMC

Historically, this is done by 4-6 different intermediaries. Not surprisingly, this is inefficient and costly, and cedes control of inventory and valuable customer data.
